Chinese New Year begins on 17 February and marks the start of the Year of the Fire Horse – an energetic and rare zodiac year that last occurred 60 years ago. The Fire Horse symbolizes passion, courage and forward-looking energy, and in its honour Iso Omena is hosting a colourful event filled with traditions and experiences.
Dragon Dance
Welcome to experience the traditional Dragon Dance, symbolising good fortune, prosperity, and the cleansing energy of the New Year. The dancers guide the dragon through the corridors of Iso Omena, creating a vibrant and dynamic performance that captivates visitors of all ages!
Wishing Tree
At the event, you’ll find a wishing tree where you can hang your own New Year’s wishes. During Chinese New Year, people write wishes, prayers or blessings on small notes and attach them to a tree or branches.
Common wishes include:
• health
• good fortune
• success in studies or work
• family wellbeing
• peace and a long, happy life
Write your wish at the event and hang it on the branches—let’s create a meaningful and beautiful display together!
Zodiac Colouring Station
Visitors of all ages can sit down for a moment at the zodiac colouring station, where you can colour Chinese zodiac animals and explore the meaning of colours in Chinese culture. Welcome to colour your own zodiac sign!
Photo booth
The New Year represents hope, promises and fresh beginnings. At the photo spot, you can pause for a moment and capture the start of this special year. Behind you shines the symbol of the Fire Horse—representing courage, movement and good fortune.

Kiinalainen uusivuosi alkaa 17. helmikuuta ja käynnistää Tulen Hevosen vuoden – energisen ja harvinaisen merkkivuoden, joka nähtiin viimeksi 60 vuotta sitten. Tulen Hevosen vuosi symboloi intohimoa, rohkeutta ja eteenpäin katsomista, ja sen kunniaksi Iso Omena järjestää teemaan liittyvän tapahtuman täynnä väriä, perinteitä ja elämyksiä.
Lohikäärmetanssi
Tervetuloa ihailemaan perinteistä Lohikäärmetanssia, joka symboloi hyvää onnea, vaurautta ja uuden vuoden puhdistavaa voimaa. Tanssijat liikuttavat lohikäärmettä pitkin Ison Omenan käytäviä. Upea kokonaisuus tarjoaa mukaansatempaavan elämyksen kaikenikäisille!
Uuden vuoden toivomuspuu
Tapahtumasta löytyy toivomuspuu, johon voi ripustaa oman uuden vuoden toiveensa. Kiinalaisen uuden vuoden aikaan ihmiset kirjoittavat toiveita, rukouksia tai siunauksia paperilapuille ja ripustavat ne puuhun tai oksille.
